You may have noticed the new 20mph signage being installed, in the form of small circular lamp post signs and road markings. Initially all the signage will be “blacked out” until installation of the whole area is complete so queries may result from residents in the affected roads wanting to know what they are for as it will not be immediately obvious. The Council are planning at this stage for the scheme to go live in early April (the exact date has yet to be confirmed) prior to this the current 30mph limit will continue to be in force. A city wide communications programme linked to the scheme is planned to begin around 24th March. The controls start at Sackville Road in the west, Old Shioreham Road to the north, and across the city centre. The seafront remains at 30mph.
