Update
Work has begun on the removal of the vandalised lamps.
If any resident has a light problem in their home due to the lamps or the LED lights, you can apply for one side of the lantern to be replaced with a white shield to eliminate glare in the property. Please contact the council or info@fopa.co.uk and we will try and assist.
Concerns about the lamps going missing during renovation were put at ease by the team. All the lanterns will undergo full refurbishment and will definitely be replaced as soon as the work is finished.
We have been working with the local council due to vandalism of several streetlighting lanterns across Adelaide Crescent and Palmeira Square. It is required to install some temporary lanterns while the existing fittings are being refurbished. Those on the side of the Square & Crescent should have received a letter outlining the works below.
Vandalised lanterns affected are the following: –
Palmeira Square -01 0 & 03A
Adelaide Crescent -007, 008, 009, 010
The work to remove the existing fittings and installation of the temporary lanterns is due to take place the week commencing 2nd September. The temporary lanterns will be in place for a few weeks until the refurbished lanterns are re-installed. Due to the nature of the works, the council are unable to give an accurate completion date for these works.
If you have any questions or concerns about the work, the lighting in the area or would like further information, please contact us at Streetliqhting@brighton-hove.gov.uk
