We are pleased to announce that the Friends of Palmeira and Adelaide have been recently awarded a grant donation of £1000 from the Pebble Trust towards new plants in the gardens. Winning this grant will go towards replanting some of our more neglected floral beds in Adelaide Gardens, and possibly fill out some of the other areas in our gardens with more colour and variety of perennials.
The Friends have been working to draw out plans to create a perennial bed in the centre of Adelaide, and with this generous donation, we can now see this bed planted during the autumn months, and hopefully replenish some of the other areas in Palmeira and Adelaide with new flowering plants, and springtime bulbs.
The Pebble Trust was set up in 2009. They invite applications for funding from local organisations involved in community projects like ourselves. Since then they have made many donations to numerous organisations across the city. The Friends look forward to building an ongoing partnership with the Pebble Trust, and the other projects that they support.
