Advanced notice of reduced parking in NW Palmeira Sq, on the
25th & 26th November 2020.
Since July 2018 on behalf of FOPA residents we approached the council about the safety of the elm trees on the west side of the Square gardens. Raised on behalf of residents due to how the trees were bending/moving over in high winds.
The surveyor’s report with recommendations came back with the main recommendation to pollard the trees down to a height of around 10m. This is quite a substantial proposal but should give you a clear insight to the need to do this for structural safety reasons.
Please note a large number of spaces will be required for this work and notices will go up as usual warning of the works and the spaces to be occupied.
